Ecotourism Kenya

Ecotourism Kenya promotes responsible tourism practices within the tourism industry. Responsible Tourism Tanzania (RTTZ) is a non-profit organisation that encourages and promotes a more sustainable tourism industry within Tanzania. RTTZ provides various services and functions to support the tourism industry in sustainably managing its business. These include providing internationally accepted standards and an auditing and evaluation process accompanied by a certification scheme.

Dubai Sustainable Tourism

The Sustainability Requirements launched by the Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) are aimed at improving the environmental performance of the hospitality industry through a range of policies and standards. LEED, or Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design, is a globally recognised symbol of excellence in green building. LEED certification ensures electricity cost savings, lower carbon emissions and healthier environments. It provides a comprehensive framework for assessing the overall environmental performance of new and existing buildings to promote sustainable design and best practices in construction and operations in buildings.

Green Seal is a global non-profit organisation with a mission to transform the economy for a healthier, greener world. Since 1989, it has applied rigorous standards for health, environmental sustainability, and product performance to its certification programmes. The certification mark is a universal symbol that a product or service meets a high benchmark of health and environmental leadership.

DGNB System

The German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) certification system was first introduced to the market in 2009 and is now internationally recognised as the Global Benchmark for Sustainability. As a planning and optimisation  tool, it helps implement a holistic and sustainable quality. The DGNB System is based on the three central sustainability areas of ecology, economy and sociocultural issues.

ECOsmart by Greengage is the international sustainability certification widely used by hotels to demonstrate their commitment to sustainable practices and achievement of recognised standards.
